Wednesday’s Trail Report
As of Tuesday, 12/9, Wolf and Moose Loops have been groomed for classical and skate skiing and are rated in fair to good conditions – it’s a bit of a mixed bag on conditions because of the tree litter left behind from all the windfalls that have been cleared. Bluebird has been groomed for classical and skate skiing over the flowage and is in very good condition. As of 12/9, all windfalls have been cleared on Osprey, surface has been rolled and combed, no tracks set. Conditions are a bit rough with some sections very nice. Volunteers will be clearing trees on Homestead on Friday, 12/12, with the hope of finishing and then rolling and combing the surface.
All trails will be groomed on Thursday and Friday night for weekend skiers.
Mercer Spring Snowshoe Trail is open.
Klondike and Donner Trails still have many windfalls that need clearing. This trail was hit especially hard with a large number of down trees. In fact, volunteers are having a challenging time locating the trail because of the deep snow, markers covered with snow and the high volume of windfalls.
Chalet will be opened for the season starting on Friday, 12/19. Stove and chimney maintenance is currently being performed.
