THURSDAY TRAIL REPORT

Skate lanes on the MECCA trail system were renovated and combed this morning. Classic tracks were left in place.  The trails are somewhat firm with minor drifting in the open fields but all in all conditions are good.

MONDAY TRAIL REPORT


For the next six days, the weather roller coaster is set to deliver warm temps, rain, freezing temps, a dusting of snow and then mild temps going into next weekend. Because of these big weather swings, the next grooming event will most likely occur on Thursday. Currently the MECCA Trail System has a snow base of approximately 15”.

Winterfest Virtual Events continue until February 19th – Ski on your schedule and record your best time for a chance to win top male and female categories  and door prizes.

SUNDAY TRAIL REPORT

Skate lanes were renovated and combed early this morning – lanes are level and fast! Tracks were left in place and are in good condition, thin in spots.

FRIDAY TRAIL REPORT

Groomers were out early this morning resetting the tracks and grooming the skate lanes. The warm conditions have added an extra challenge. Tracks are good, but thin in some spots. The skate deck has some corn snow but is still in excellent condition. Enjoy!

WEDNESDAY TRAIL REPORT

Groomers were out Tuesday morning, tracks were renovated and set, and the skate lane was combed.  Spring skiing conditions are very good, a softer surface with warmer temps and fast, possibly icy surface as it cools overnight.
Grooming is planned for Friday morning, weather dependent. 

WEEKEND TRAIL REPORT

Skate lane was groomed Saturday and is rated 3F. Firm! Fast! And Fun! Tracks have some drifting near the Flowage but generally are in good shape. Enjoy! Only 2 weeks left to complete Winterfest Virtual Events.

 

FRIDAY TRAIL REPORT

Grooming team is out today. Tracks are being renovated and reset this morning. The skate lane will be combed this afternoon. Winterfest Virtual Events are going on through February 19 with lots of prizes left to win!

TUESDAY TRAIL REPORT

Groomers were out this afternoon renovating and combing the skate lanes.  A short section of the Moose and Homestead Loops were not groomed.  Tracks that were set over the weekend are still in great shape; firm and deep.  Tomorrow is shaping up to be an enjoyable day to ski with very good to excellent conditions and temps starting to be moderate.

WINTERFEST UPDATE

Winterfest was held on Saturday and the trails were in great condition with firm skate lanes and deep tracks.  The Candlelight Ski Shoe Hike event was on Saturday evening and a small group of enthusiasts braved the cold weather to hike the 1 mile candlelit trail around the chalet.  Groomers are planning to go out tomorrow, Tuesday 1/31, to comb the skate lane.
Virtual Winterfest events continue through February 19th.  The courses are marked at each intersection, you can ski the courses multiple times, and report your best time.  Everyone gets a Borah Winterfest Hat and is eligible for great prizes from our sponsors. Learn more on our Events page.

THURSDAY TRAIL UPDATE

Current Trail Conditions: All trails are groomed with a combed skate lane and a set of tracks and remain in great condition! Preparations for MECCA’s Winterfest Live Event on Saturday have begun and there is still time to sign up.

Winterfest Weekend Forecast: Colder temps and snow flurries through Saturday.  Saturday high 9°F, light and variable

Weekend Grooming Plan: Groomers are working everyday to maintain the trail conditions and prepare for weekend festivities. The trail will close at 3 PM on Friday afternoon for final race course preparations. Conditions will be firm and smooth for racers on Saturday morning. On Saturday afternoon, groomers will set out lanterns and re-groom the trail for the Candlelight Ski Shoe Hike happening Saturday evening beginning at dusk.
